Once we made the decision to invest in land on the Placencia peninsula, the next important issues to address became (a) who to use as our architect and (b) who to use as our builder. After speaking with our real estate agent about potential architects and builders, we drove around to houses that we found architecturally pleasing and that appeared to be well constructed. In each instance, we learned that the architect was Mr. Andrea Bacher and the builder was Alliance Construction. We confirmed with our real estate agent that Alliance Construction was well regarded in the community. We then met with Mr. Garcia and his management team and found them to be friendly, well-informed individuals that we felt that we could easily work with. Finding people that we would be comfortable with was important to us in that we had never built a home from the ground-up. Finding people that were easy to work with was also going to be important since we would, in effect, be building the house from afar (ie. from the United States).

Our initial impressions were correct. Mr. Garcia built our home in a timely manner, on budget, and fully consistent with our plans. Working with Alliance Construction was excellent. The employees of Alliance Construction are friendly, well spoken, and talented. The few construction issues that arose were resolved and corrected in a cordial and timely manner.
